If you’ve tried “everything” for depression, trauma, or anxiety and still feel stuck, ketamine-assisted care may open a new door. In the right setting, ketamine can help the brain become more flexible (neuroplastic), soften rigid thought loops, and create a window where therapy and healthy habits finally “land.” At Vitae, we pair medicine with mindful preparation, compassionate support, and integration—so insights turn into real-life change.
What Ketamine Can Help With
Treatment-resistant depression (TRD)
PTSD and trauma-related symptoms
Anxiety and rumination
Loss of motivation, “stuckness,” and burnout
Important: Ketamine isn’t a cure or a fit for everyone. It’s one tool—most helpful when combined with therapy, nervous-system practices, and social support, counseling and appropriate integration with trained professionals.
Why It Works
Ketamine briefly shifts how brain networks communicate and boosts glutamate signaling—often leading to rapid increases in neuroplasticity. Many people describe a felt sense of space and perspective, which can make therapy and lifestyle changes more effective. When done with skilled guides, music, and intention, that inner experience becomes fuel for healing.
What Care Looks Like at Vitae
Thoughtful intake & safety screening
We complete a thorough medical and psychological review to tailor care and keep you safe.
Preparation
In a session before treatment, we will help you clarify your intentions, set expectations, review music options, and design your comfort plan (eye mask, breath cues, grounding).
Ketamine session (in-clinic, medically supervised)
During your session, your vital signs will be continuously monitored, with a trained clinician/therapist present to support you throughout.
Integration
Within 24–72 hours after treatment, you will have an integration session. During this we translate insights into simple practices: mindfulness, sleep, nutrition, movement, nature, quiet and therapy goals. This is where change sticks.
Right-sized series & follow-up
You won’t be rushed. We recommend a short series with scheduled check-ins so benefits accumulate without overwhelm.
Who Might Not Be a Candidate (For Now)
Those with:
Uncontrolled high blood pressure or serious cardiac issues
Current pregnancy/breastfeeding
Active psychosis or mania
Unstable substance use disorder
Recent significant head injury (needs medical clearance)
If any of these apply, we’ll help you stabilize first and revisit when safer.
How Ketamine Fits With Therapy & Wellness
Therapy: Sessions before and after medicine (KAP) anchor the experience.
Nervous system care: Breathwork, gentle movement, sleep, and light exposure help your brain consolidate gains.
Community: Supportive spaces reduce isolation and sustain momentum.
